To start a workout with a target tap the '...' icon by an activity name & then tap 'Target'.
You will then see a list of the types of target that the app offers.
You can choose a fixed distance and/or time, or set a target pace to compare against. You can even compare your performance against a previous workout.
For more complex targets including ranges and zones please see Interval Schedules
Where the target includes a finite limit (e.g. a fixed distance, time, calories or steps) then the start screen will have an option to Auto-End the workout when you reach that limit. Otherwise you will be alerted to the limit being reached but the workout will not end.
You can specify a target pace by entering a pace (minutes per mile or km) or by entering both a distance and also a time.
When specifying the distance for a target pace you have options for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon.
You can also compare your pace against a previous workout if you wish.
To do this choose the 'Workout' option and then select a workout from the list that appears. Only workouts of the same activity type are shown.
When a workout is started with a target pace or previous workout then the app shows the Target Pace screen. This can be configured in the Screens settings.
If the screen includes a map then the target will be shown as a yellow dot on the map, for extra motivation!
